...These are the finest hand made knives we have found crafted in India and the finest quality knives for the price anywhere!

Delhi Forge knives are made from exceptional materials including buffalo horn, rosewood, camel bone, nickel silver and true Damascus.

TheDamascus is hand forged using a combination of high carbon steel and of mild steel. They start with 9 layers of steel which is heated, folded and hammered nine times to achieve a total of 576 layers.

The steel is then carefully hand filed into the blade shape and then heat treated to a hardness of 46-50 on the Rockwell hardness scale.

Like all Damascus the steel is then treated with acid. The acid eats into the two steels at different rates which bring out the wonderful patterns that define damascus steel.

The surface is then lightly sanded to further contrast the two steels and really bring out the pattern.

Many of the knives made by Delhi Forge feature hand engraving. These knives are not cast or machined, but hand engraved one at a time. This insures that every Delhi Forge knife is a unique work of art.

In fact every aspect of the crafting of these knives is done with hand tools (with the exception of the concave grind on some models that is produced with an electric grinder).
