...We have several models of RosArms knives that you will not find from other vendors because we get them directly from the manufacturer.

The mountains of the South Urals are rich in iron-ore and minerals. Amidst forests reserves and lakes, the town of Zlatoust resides. It is one of a few world famous centers producing unique high quality side-arms and decorated blades. The Zlatoust armory workshop was founded in 1851.

In spite of complicated historical and political cataclysms over the years in Russia cold steel craft has not vanished. In fact, the Zloust arms industry is constantly improving itself and enriching old traditions.

After the disintegration of the USSR, in the 1990's, the ROSarms enterprise was founded by a group of enthusiasts and like-minded people. Using the old-century experience of producing extra strong steel, in the best traditions of the Ural craftsmen, they continued the craft begun by Zlatoust armorers.

At the present ROSarms offers a wide range of hand-made knives for outdoorsman, fishermen, hunters, divers, climbers, special forces and EMERCOM (the elite Russian rescue team). ROSarms knives have stood severe tests in real combat operations and in Arctic climate conditions.

The steel of ROSarms knives is very special. The blades are made of the famous Zlatoust forged and hardened stainless steel 110x18M and 40x10C-2M (similar to ATS-34 or 440c stainless steel).

The most important components of stainless steel is Carbon (C) and Chromium (Cr). ROSarms steel (110x18) has 1.1 % of C and 17-18% of (Cr). In comparison 440C and ATS-34 has a little less Carbon (1.05%) and less Chroium (14%).

Although the steel used in ROSarms knives is very similar in it's chemical makeup, what sets it apart is the special heat treating and tempering that is so important to creating a superior blade. The knives are rated at 58 on the Rockwell hardness scale.

Handles of knives are only made of "warm" material like walnut, box-tree, beech, birch nodule, birch bark and leather. All ROSarms knives feature full tang construction where the tang goes all the way through the handle and attaches at the pommel.

Besidesthe "working" knives, ROSarms offers highly decorated blade arms using nickeling, silvering, gilding, etching, blueing, nieling, incrustation with gems and semi-precious stones. These are sabres and swords, dirks and daggers.

These special pieces are among the finest knives produced anywhere and are very expensive. We can provide prices and photographs upon request.
