If you are looking for an impressive gift for a knife lover or something special for yourself you won't be disappointed in this fine Laguiole from Fontenille-Pataud.
This beautiful knife is richly adorned with hand file work. The blade back, spring back and liner all are heavily decorated. Even the inside of the liner is polished and there is file work on the interior of the back spring.
There is a blade stop system to keep the blade away from the back spring when closed which helps it to keep an edge longer.
The blade is made from 12C27 Sandvik steel and is hardened to 54 HRC.
The handle is made from highly polished buffalo horn bark. This is from the exterior of the buffalo horn and creates some interesting texture on the handle of the knife.
The knife measures 4 3/4" (12cm) closed.
Included are a certificate of authenticity and a leather pouch.
