Kappetijn Knives is based in Pretoria, South Africa. Each Kappetjin knife is hand-made to exacting standards. Although these knives have the features, design and quality craftsmanship collectors look for, Kappetjin's philosophy is to make knives to actually be used.
Kappetjin's damascus steel uses a combination of 1075 high carbon steel and 4340 high nickel steel. All blades are hardened and triple tempered to achieve a hardness of 57-59 HRC.
The Serengeti is an extremely rugged hunting/skinning knife, beautiful enough to be a collector's item, but made to be used!
The Serengeti features charcoal black Micarta scales with non-slip divots, a thick twist damascus blade (5mm thick), brass lined lanyard ring and a custom made leather sheath.
This knife measures 9" in length with a 4 3/4" concave ground blade.
