Kappetijn Knives is based in Pretoria, South Africa. Each Kappetjin knife is hand-made to exacting standards. Although these knives have the features, design and quality craftsmanship collectors look for, Kappetjin's philosophy is to make knives to actually be used.
Kappetjin's stainless steel is 420HC and is heat treated in a surgical heat treatment oven and triple tempered ensuring blade hardness of 57 HRC.
Kappetjin's damascus steel uses a combination of 1075 high carbon steel and 4340 high nickel steel. All blades are hardened and triple tempered to achieve a hardness of 57-59 HRC.
This is a big hunting knife with a razor sharp blade, hand stippled copper bolsters and a butt-end guthook. The handle is made from Turkish walnut.
Included is a hand made leather belt sheath.
This knife measures 10 1/8" in length with a 5" concave ground blade.
