This is a traditional, thick, hand forged Lappish Leuku native to Finland.
Laplanders still use this type of knife for many purposes including splitting wood, drsssing big game and cutting brush.
This isa smaller version of Rosellis full size Leuku measuring 10 1/2" in length with a 5" high carbon steel blade.
The handle is made from a solid piece of kiln dried Curly Birch wood.
Included is a high quality leather belt sheath.
