The 66-layer Damascus is backed by a highly durable Japanese VG-10 steel core. Its composition makes for a long-lasting durable and incredibly sharp blade. 54 HRC.
The Sultan is perfectly balanced - its weight combined with our straight-cut edge creates an incredibly pleasurable cutting experience.
Because the nickel steel is softer, it helps the blade glide through food. This technique, called “Laminate Damascus”, is used to pay homage to Japan’s Damascus knife-making heritage within a modern kitchen knife application.
